Description
This is a Selmer Balanced Action Tenor SN#: 34465. I purchased it in 1962 from Manny'sin New York. I do not know if it was a re-lacquer or not. I had it overhauled by Weiner Music
in Long Island around 1999. It came back with the Key Clamps you see in the photos.
I played it a few times after over-haul and it played great! I was playing mostly Bari and Alto then
so it did not get played very much. This horn is a one of a kind
special Balanced Action because
whomever had it before me had a MarkVI neck fitted to it. Once that was done the original
neck was ostensibly lost.
It plays
spectacularly with the MarkVI neck and I have had a few Balanced Action owners
try the horn and they unanimously said it had a better tone, and was easier blowing.
It is in
spectacular
condition for an instrument made around 1938. This is a prized and rare
example of the famous and sought after Balanced Action Tenor!
